Mailinglijst 'BeeAlert' (Phil Chandler)

Door mijn ooghoeken volg ik al een paar jaar de verrichtingen van de Engelsman Phil Chandler. Hij beheert de site biobees.com, hij heeft een app waarop je allemaal lezingen en interviews kunt beluisteren en hij voert actief strijd tegen bedrijven zoals Bayer, die in zijn ogen bezig zijn met hun producten de bijen uit te roeien.
Hij is onder andere zeer verbolgen over het feit dat de British Beekeepers Asociation (BBKA, zeg maar de Britse NBV) zich voortdurend inlaat met Bayer. Phil verdenkt de BBKA er zelfs van dat die steekpenningen heeft aangenomen van Bayer. Een van de links hieronder leidt naar een youtube-filmpje, waarop je een zekere Lovett kunt zien en horen praten over de geweldige samenwerking met Bayer. Lovett is bestuurslid van de BBKA. Ongeacht of Lovett zich laat omkopen of niet, ik vind dat heel onverstandig van hem. Ik hoop niet dat een of ander NBV-bestuurslid zich ooit voor commerciële karretjes laat spannen. Misschien niet echt kwalijk, met wel heel onzuiver, vind ik.
Hieronder heb ik het laatste bericht geknipt en geplakt dat de inschrijvers van zijn mailinglijst ontvingen. Ik weet niet meer hoe ik mij heb ingeschreven, maar dat zal ik wel op biobees.com gedaan hebben. Ik weet werkelijk niet wat ik ervan denken moet en of Phil tegen windmolens vecht of niet, maar ik wilde je hiervan graag op de hoogte brengen.

Those of you who are members of the British Bee Keepers Association may like to ask them why Tim Lovett and the BBKA continue to promote the interests of a corporation that not only manufactures and distributes insecticides known to kill bees, but that is also prepared to use junk science and lies to get their products to market?
Here is the video I flagged a few weeks ago, from a recent event organized by Bayer to position themselves as 'bee-friendly' - with the help of Tim Lovett and, by association, the BBKA - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PfabP6ipm4
The facility to comment on the video was removed on the orders of Dr Julian Little, chair of the Agricultural Biotechnology Council and Communications & Government Affairs Manager for Bayer CropScience Limited.
It's not as if Bayer is new to lies and deceit - even murder - as a promo tool. Here's how they deliberately gave AIDS-contaminated drugs to haemophiliac children, for example - http://tinyurl.com/yqamee
Are Bayer really the sort of corporation the BBKA should even be talking to, never mind associating themselves with?

Isn't it time for the BBKA to call a halt to all connections with the pesticide peddlers and to come out strongly in favour of organic agriculture and pesticide-free gardening?
